Why is it fair for men to pay during a date?

I know many women that expect men to pay expenses on a date. Why? Men’s money is not more important than women’s money.

When women ask me to pay I ask, “Don’t you have any money?” I am not tight with my money or selfish. It just does not seem fair for men to pay.

This nonsense is a carryover from decades ago when men worked and women stayed home. Now that women work, equality rules.

If you want a date with me, get over your phobias and pay your fair share.

good article, women continue to preech about how they want their fair share and their own independent rights, and this is a perfect example of how it should be expressed

I think you bring up a good point about equality. People no matter what there sexual preference should buy their own meals. Not to be rude, since I know that there are women out there that will huff and puff, but many women now make more then men in certain jobs. Some fields are typically dominated by women. How is that equal or fair?

Also, Amy, who commented on your story sounds like she got her feelings hurt and thought that you were being rude. According to your advice(Amy), men should always pay for the first date. What about gays, lesbians, etc. We exist too! What do you suggest in that situation?

Again, concerning this Amy woman. I guess I am a little hung up on the type of person she is emulating. Amy get to know who YOU want to date and maybe it wouldn’t cost YOU so much!
