Are all relationships doomed to fail?
After being there for my close friends after breakup after breakup, I began to realize that there was a pattern to this type of thing. Why did they fall in love so quick, but it never lasted? They broke up in a few months after they were officially together, and they would move on just as fast. They were ‘Relationship Jumping’ as I like to call it.
First they would meet someone, either through a friend or from work or school, ect., but they would meet them, and after a day of talking to them, would decide to go steady. Right there, from step one, I think is where they were doomed to see relationship breakup. They barely had any communication before they were boyfriend/girlfriend, and that right there was their downfall.
After they were going steady, they would post their relationship all over websites like Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, you name it. They would post pictures of them making out, being together, things that other people don’t really want to see. It’s a great thing being in love, but the rest of the world doesn’t need to see your tongues clashing.
Then either the drama started or they began to realize that their significant other that they wanted to spend the rest of their life with was not really so special. They began to realize that it’s hard to keep a relationship alive, and with peer pressure or just sheer stupidity, they call it off. People get bored very quickly, I’ve noticed, and they move on before they even break up. Hearts break, drama flies, and it’s all because of their extreme immaturity.
Fairy tale endings are no longer existent. People don’t ‘fall in love’, they ‘fall into lust’. There are no more happy endings, because people start out on the wrong foot. People want a relationship, and they don’t even know the person that they are starting one with. If they took the time, dedication, and patience it takes to meet someone, get to know them, and fall in love, then there would be less divorce, in my opinion.
