Profits made out of sickness and death, pleasure out of the infliction of pain, lies instead of truth, driven by the dark side!

Why is it that profits are made out of sickness or death? Why do we always turn to the obituaries? Why do we get pleasure out of inflicting pain? Why do we only call on God in our darkest hour? Why is it easier to lie than tell the truth?

It would seem that we all are at sometime or another driven by the dark side. Is it as the Bible would suggest that we are all paying for the sins of Adam and Eve, or is there a more scientific answer? I am no Philosopher, Theologian, or even indeed a great Scholar, but I would put forward a suggestion or two, based purely on human nature.

If you look toward the Charles Darwin Theory (Survival of the fittest/ Evolution by natural selection), this could give us a clue. For example if it is only the fittest that shall inherit the earth, then instantly it will explain the competitive streak in some of our fellow human beings. It is this competiveness that drives some folk to lie, steal, or cheat. I grant, that in it’s right place competition can be healthy. It can spur us on to reach greater heights, especially in the world of medicine, art, scientific research, sport, and exploration. However,  the downside takes us into a more darker, sinister world, leading us into temptation.

have you ever noticed how once we have spun one tale, it is hard to break the thread? We don’t usually set out to cause mayhem, grief and pain, sometimes it just happens that way1 However, once you find yourself caught up in a web of lies, it takes a strong good honest man or woman to break free.

There seems no right or wrong answers, and as a lesser mortal I am aware of my own faults, and downfalls, I just hope that when I take a trip on the dark side I am accompanied by only me, I, and myself, and that I am not selfish enough to drag anybody else down with me!
