A Reflection about Living with Imperfections.

As life falls upon on our individual selves many will turn up asking at the depths of despair and misery as if we were involved in a game of life where we deserve a fair play. The economic crisis, the rising costs of living, unemployment problems, climate changes, health problems, politics and business practices are but few issues which would often leave us down and beaten.
Back home (Philippines) before every evening lottery draw on the TV (everyday) there would be a video replay of each pre-draw procedures where each balls were being weighed, on a scale implying that balls used in the draw should be of the same weight. So there’s no human intervention on what happens next except the operator who presses the button culminating the drawing of balls for each draw. But of course as it often happens, we don’t really know what unfolds behind closed doors.
Our concept of fair play if applied in our situation in life would simply mean that like balls used in the lottery draw, we should be of the same traits as participants of this grand game we call life. The same faces, the same height, weight, reasoning ability, social status, sex if rules should be really strict. An amusing point for consideration which would be rather philosophical in the sense that without the spirit of competition, everybody would turn up winners or losers because everything is equal. But where in the world will you find a game where all participants are winners? Would it be rather dull and absurd having everything you wanted, as you wished for it at the moment when you willed for it to happen? Will people in that “fair world” surely be happy? I suppose not. Routine life is sure monotonous and boring. So when you think of this present life of yours as unfair, think again. What life would be like if it’s fair? You wouldn’t like seeing your article published in the hot content list as everybody else don’t you? As for me I could stand having been rejected by Triond countless times on the grounds of wrong spelling (which would be impossible since I won spelling contests early as in first grade) or short, meaningless content. It does remind me to accept my fate living in an unfair world.
