You may hate some of the rules in your work place, since you feel those rules as unnecessary and not good enough. What you do miss out here is the fact that the rules may have been made out of compulsion, perhaps due to an incident which made it necessary for the rules to set in.

If you look around, you would find every organization, companies, hotels, offices, sports bodies, business and every public transport system stand on the principles carved out by the respective organization.

These principles are a set of rules and regulations set forth by the board members to facilitate the working of organization.

The rules and regulations also help the organization or the companies to organize the working process. An organization without a set of rules and regulations would be the most hated place to be in.

Why rules and regulations are necessary in our lives? What value does it bring to our lives?

You may hate some of the rules in your work place, since you feel those rules as unnecessary and not good enough. What you do miss out here is the fact that the rules may have been made out of compulsion, perhaps due to an incident which made it necessary for the rules to set in.

I will quote a small incident which took place while I used to stay in a working lodge.

The lodge was located in a beautiful place and was inhabited by many students and employees of various companies. It was a three storey building, with a terrace at the top.

The residents of the lodge would go to the terrace at night to spend some time and few would sit on the edge of the balcony. They would sit there for couple of hours before going back to sleep.

One day, a resident fell down, as he slipped from the edge of the terrace and died. A case was registered against the owner, though it was not his fault. Since, he was the owner of the lodge; he had to take the responsibility of what happened.

The case was somehow settled, but the owner came out with a rule. He pasted the rule at the lodge entrance, which says “nobody is allowed to go to the terrace. If anybody is found breaking rules, he would be thrown out of the lodge”. He even locked the entrance of the terrace. The death incident coerced the owner to come out with a new rule. And why he did that, to provide more security to the residents of the lodge.

Rules and regulations are made to protect and provide security and comfort to those related with the organization.

It brings sanity to the working environment of companies and organization. Rules and regulations also bring an end to chaos and panic within offices.

A good working culture requires rules and regulations in place.

Following rules and regulations is an indication of how civilized you are. Poor management reflects a lack of proper regulations in place.

Hence, when you decide to join any organization for that matter, check their rules and regulations, before you join them.
