This is just my opinion why Twilight is better than Harry Potter.

Before I start I am a FAN of BOTH. I love Harry Potter and I own all 7 books and I’ve read them numerous times. But I prefer Twilight. Here is why.

1. The Twilight books are easy to read. The names and places are easier to visualize and the characters are easier to relate to.

2. For me I believe the Harry Potter series was too long. It was a lot of information to keep up with. Whenever a new book came out I’d have to reread the others so I wasn’t really lost. I needed everything fresh in my mind.

3. The Twilight Saga Movies are better.

4. Let me elaborate. I would go to every midnight showing of Harry Potter and I would be disappointed at the ammount of things left out of the movie. So many key points that are needed for later movies/books completely cut out. Even the main character Harry himself. His eyes are supposed to be a brilliant green and they are blue. Now Daniel Radcliff is a great actor for Harry. But he could have worn contacts to make it more believable.

5. Kristen Stewart does a great job of playing Bella. Her natural eye color is a blueish green and she does where the contacts to make her eyes brown to fit the character.

6. The Twilight movies follow the books more than Harry Potter does. The half blood prince was a disgrace in movie form. They changed the whole thing into a giant love story between Harry and Ginny. Harry is supposed to break up with Ginny at the end. What about the other memories? How is Harry supposed to find all the Horcruxes when they left out almost all of the memories!!?

7. I think more Harry Potter fans should give Twilight a chance.

8. I was a huge Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan. When Twilight first came out I refused to watch it. Because vampires aren’t supposed to sparkle. It really turned me off from the movie. But then I read the books. They describe the sparkling skin as being alluring. It’s supposed to enchant their prey and draw them in. I thought it was brilliant and I changed my views. Obviously.

9. Twilight brings up real issues about sex before marriage. Edward’s character is adamant on waiting. So Bella and Edward do wait until they marry. I think it’s a great message to teens everywhere. That it’s okay to say no, and wait for the one special someone.

10. I love the fact that they filmed all the Twilight movies all at once. So one after another they’ve been coming out. It makes it so the characters don’t age much between filming. Harry Potter seems to be taking forever and the actors are just too old looking now for it to really be believable. I think if they would have filmed the first few movies together and kept going it would have been better.

Now heres what I want. Give me your feedback. Tell me why you prefer Twilight. Even tell me why you prefer Harry Potter.

I’m very open minded. Come on people!

    I prefer Harry for sure.
I’m not trying to be mean, but you realize that most of your reasons have to do with the movies…
I feel that if you are going to make an actual list, then they should be based solely on the books.

Harry Potter is classic. kids who had grown up reading it and now fully ladies and gents would hand those 7 books down to their kids someday like a family heirloom.

seriously, like what Tasha said, you only based it on the books.

Harry Potter is a genius piece of literature that shouldn’t really be compared to anything like vampire nobles simply because (for crying out loud) it’s so far out. just because they are both blockbusters and la la la.

and i got to say i was strongly offended by that title. J.K Rowling’s style of writing is different with sm — and please see it? it’s much better than the latter.

so, HP is an original story, imaginable and can make people wonder if there is really magic (guess there is. oh never mind). i don’t find myself lost when another book comes out, so i can’t relate with that specific point of yours.

and hp is not just about ‘he’s hot i’m falling in love.’ its characters are more realistic, and showing some flaws that normal people would have. bella is too perfect for her own good. guys check her out. like mary sue or something.

pardon me, i’m not being harsh. and pardon my grammar as well since i’m in a hurry.

Harry Potter is a very original story in so far as it clashes fantasy with reality and books about vampires are almost always set in modern times whereas wizardry is normally set in ancient times or fantasy worlds.

Harry Potter is a story of good and evil clashing and this gives the books a far greater meaning whereas Twilight is simply a love story with some dissapointing action scenes.

Harry Potter develops all of its characters such as Ron’s siblings and even Snape, in this way Harry Potter manages to give an impression of a far greater world around the main characters.

Harry Potter is more realistic in the way that it deals with love and moves away from the almost soley erotic views of Twilight.

All in all I think that Harry Potter is a far more developed set of novels than Twilight and Rowling’s characters are easily related to as both their flaws and virtues are shown throughout the series.

I’ve read all of the Harry Potter books. Several times in fact. I think that at some points it gets boring an repetitive.

As far as it being more “realistic” HELLO Witches vs Vampires, all fictional.

SM has a way of making her characters come to life.

Bella is far from a Mary Sue, because she is unhappy with herself. She shows that just because guys are paying attention to her that she doesn’t quite get that she is a beauty. She’s basically annoyed because she’s unsure of herself.

I can’t believe you took the time to write some mess like this.
Nothing about Twilight even comes close to Harry Potter.
Stephanie Meyer can’t write. J.K. Rowling is an amazing writer. Everyone else knows this. Even Steven King has said: “Stephenie Meyer can’t write worth a darn. She’s not very good.” and also “The difference between Stephanie Meyer and J. K. Rowling is that J. K. Rowling can actually write.”

Go read J.R.R Tolkien, Octavia Butler, H.P. Lovecraft and Glen Cook and you will never pick up a Twilight or Harry Potter novel again.

If you read novels by them and disagree, well, god help us all.

twilight is appaling, s.meyer cannot write. the idea she came up was incredibly unoriginal. yes vampires sparkle thats a new one. but any sane person would understand only morons could like this crap. everything was thrown together as if she didn’t have any idea how to end the story. twilight is the product of a crazy womens sextual fantasy. Harry potter is the highest grossing film series of all time and the books have sold millions of more copies. R.Pattinson said his character was a manic depressant who was a crazed womens sextual fantasy. He left harry potter because his character died. Twilight is one-dimensional, the characters are mary-sues and lack personality. the only reason its popular because the charaters are hot and everyone wants to have bellas life because of how perfect anything is, twilight lacks reality. and this book single-handedly brings down the image women protray. all bella does is care about having a boyfriend she just forgets about her family and friends to be with some abusive stalker. edward is a douche. and jacobs a whine. all the characters lack any personality. twilight is shameful. harry potter promots diversity, friendship, courage, acceptance and the list continues. in harry potter not everyting is about having a boyfriend or girlfriend. The characters in hp have depth and meaning. The story is completely original and inspiring. Face it. Twilight is a faze, Harry Potter is a LIFESTYLE!
