The society is facing a serious problem in the form of wild life extinction. Various programs have been initiated by various n.g.o. and government authorities to stop the extinction of the endangered species . Some of the programs include The International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Recourses, which helps in keeping the track of the number of species in the wilderness. The Endangered Species Act preserves those animals which are at risk and are truly in need of protection .They need protection not just from their enemies but also from humans.

All animals require shelter, food and water in order to survive. But the pollutions poaching and the destruction of habitat are serving as the main cause of extinction of the endangered species. Rehabilitation is necessary for some animals living in the wild. Proper care in the form of food ,protection from other wild animals is taken care of in the se rehab centers. But the irony is that some animals are victims of human intervention. These centers are looking after the injured, ill, and orphaned wild animals which are living a very dangerous life.

India is rich with it’s natural habitat and wild life but the serious issue is that there are number of rare and threatened animal species. The wild life of India being a mixture of a lot of species of diverse origins wildlife management in the country are taking careful steps in preserving  the glorious wildlife in our country in numerous national parks and wildlife sanctuaries.

Some of the  wildlife conservation programs in India include Project Tiger, which is till now the most successful one in protecting and preserving the tiger population. There is the Gir National Park, which is only habitat existing for Asiatic lions in India. The Kaziranga Sanctuary is Assam is another remarkable example of saving the endangered Rhinoceros. There’s Periyar in Kerala conserving the Wild Elephants and the Dachigam National Park doing the same to save the Hangul or Kashmiri Stag.

The only thing which one should remember is that if our nature and wild life is not played with the natural resources of the country are protected and thus it becomes are moral duty to look after the rich heritage and follow live and let live.
