I love my two dogs but the oldest Harvey is five years old and he is still very much a puppy!………………..

I always craved as a child to have a pet dog but my parents were not that keen so we compromised and i got a lovely pet hamster and named him Hammy!(how original).

Once i moved into my own home i wasted no time and got my first dog, a golden retriever puppy and i named him Harvey, he was a perfect gem and never had any mishaps or accidents what so ever in the house and he was great and still is, when he got to two years old i decided to get him a sister and got another retriever puppy and named her Maddy – this puppy was a nightmare and totally different to her older brother Harvey, she chewed her way through everything, my walls, boiler pipes, floors, well everything!

Even though Maddy was a devil and a half i would not have changed her for the world and i love my two dogs to bits, i can never have children so these guys are my children, and at the end of the day “a dog is for life not just for Christmas”!

Now Harvey is five years old and Maddy is three and these two little gems are showing no sighns of growing up, they have endless energy and live life to the full and cant imagine them being any different!

We are hoping to have our first litter of puppies sometime this year (even though i refer to my dogs as brother and sister–they are unrelated) and think they would make very good parents if not young crazy parents!

My dogs are my life to me and bring me so much joy and have been with me through all the bad times and on the flip side the good ones too, they are my angels and rely on me on a daily basis as i do at times them!

So on this finishing note all i can say is i adore my children and thank them for all of the endless love and pleasure they give me willingly on a daily basis.

I am so envious, golden retrievers are so gorgeous! I would love a dog but I couldn’t give one the commitment yet, thanks for sharing (have you got any photos?)

I Love dogs but cannot have any. We live right next to a very busy highway and have had at least five dogs killed in front of our house. So sad.

Had to come back and leave you these two articles. It sounds like you are as much of an animal lover as I am. So, you might enjoy these if you have time.

Congratulations! You probably are one of the lucky people out their that have a true and loyal love, as it sounds you have for them. If ever you just get frustrated, keep in the back of your mind that one day they are going to be older and you will miss the way they are now. I am sooo happy to see that someone loves their pet as you do. My daughter and I are constantly having to take in strays that are dropped off and find them great homes. I was really happy to see that someone else can love their animals as much as I do. Oh yeah, and BTW the chewing thing….it just comes with the territory…lol Get a favorite toy of theirs and put a light coat of peanut butter on it. This will encourage chewing of the toy instead of your stuff. Sounds crazy but hey, it works! This was a very good article and I loved it. Thanks for the wonderful feeling that I obtained through reading this.
