When money is tight and there’s this function you just can’t miss out on…. Just grab a bottle, and be there. Here’s how?…
I show up with a bottle of red wine that I don’t usually drink because a friend brought it to my house and we did not get to drink it. I love recycling wine, passing it on, especially when I have no use for it. It makes for a great conversational piece. ”Here’s a bottle of red wine for you”. I smile, nod, “open it up.” I know what she was thinking….she was going to recycle it too. I couldn’t give her the chance. I know the game. ”I have a bottle open…” ha ha, nice try. ”This ones special.”. Wink, gotcha. This bottle of red was given to me at a play date very much like this one. It was most likely given to her by a great friend who is very much like you guessed it, yours truly. ”Oh, ok… Of course.” She smiles but I can tell it bothers her that I don’t want to drink a bottle already open. ”don’t worry, I’ll help you finish it!”. Chuckle chuckle, I offer. Slick bitch, she’s probably thinking. She’s right. ”Na, I don’t want anymore, but thanks.” I can’t stand red wine. I have one more bottle of red at home just waiting to attend another willing friends house. Why does everyone bring me red? It’s funny because they know I like white. That not saying I won’t drink it at someone else’s house. I come bearing gifts on your dollar, and with that I add “lol”. If you bring me red, and don’t ask for a glass, you just might get the bottle back at your next event. I dislike dark beer too. Bring that with the bottle of red, and I’ll be at your house ready to party. I may not like it but I’ll make it work, my friend. The point of this is really nothing. Well, that’s not necessarily true. There is a point. Times are tough, money is tight isn’t it? Well recycle, renew, reuse, and you too can afford to go to that next party and if you’re like me, insist on opening it up, try it. Cheers! Happy new year. Goes well with cheese.
