A man who’s name was unknown was sitting in an alley, drinking a bottle of rotgut whisky late last night.

All of a sudden, a group of boys came down the alley and spotted the man.

“I saw the whole thing.” Said a man by the name of Eldrich who was on his way home from work and was just a few feet away from the scene.  “The man was homeless.  At least he was dressed like a homeless person. And he smelled.” Eldrich said as he whiped his nose with his index finger.

“One boy said, “Let’s waste this winehead man, I hate winos.”  “And before I knew it, they were all brutally beating up on that poor man. The man was screaming in pain and begging for mercy.” Eldrich as he paused and took a hankerchief out of his pocket and blew his nose.

“I called the Police, but by the time the cops showed up, the boys had already gone and that poor man was disfigured, lying on the ground, dead. I just felt so sorry for him.”  Eldrich continued.

“The Police summoned an ambulance and asked me a bunch of questions, mainly about those street boys, how and why they beat up on that man, did I see any weapons they were using, how old did the boys look like, what were they wearing, how many guys were involved, etc.”

“It really bothers me when I see people being mistreated, and even though that man was what most people would call a “wino,” Just like every body else, he had civil rights and therefore should have been left alone. It’s a big bad world.” Eldrich said.

The dead man was taken to the city morgue in an ambulance. Nobody could identify the body.

The Milwaukee Police are investigating the crime and are trying to locate the suspects.
