This portion explains why people should aim to be wise and proposes
ongoing acquisition of truth as a way of life in order to maintain wisdom.

There was no survey done to prove this point. The thought came out of mere forecast and part experiences, perhaps logical understanding and foresight in favor of those who have chosen to remain wise from the righteous man’s point of view. One might say, “Who is righteous ? Are all men not sinners ?”

Christians base the definition of righteousness from the Holy Bible’s teachings. Muslims have their Koran. Chinese Buddhist abide by the sayings of Buddha. Governments have constitutions and laws, ordinances and decrees. Indeed, mankind has created for himself many guidelines for the preservation of a good life whether within the family circle, within a community, within a city, a province, or within a nation. Basically, we find common acceptance of values worth upholding, among them, Truth, Peace, Freedom, Justice, Patience, Perseverance, Persistence, Endurance, Good Health in body, mind, and spirit. In reality, however, many utilize a mere facade of themselves having these virtues, for whatever they wish to justify is a noble end.

Whenever there are conflicts within a person’s ways, some levels of unhappiness lurk in the deep parts of their souls. For a human being always seeks harmony within, peace of mind and not contradictions that torment the mind. Sooner or later, one of the thoughts upheld will dominate. Others will witness who the person truly represents. Those people will respond in a way that can build or destroy the happiness of such a person living two identities, specially when one character does not seem right. For those inconsistent, will there be lasting fidelity or loyalty. Will some people bear with the conflicts within. Or will they not seek an environment with greater characters who can provide longer lasting joy for their families ? It is very easy to discard a destructive being from lives of other people who deserve better surroundings as well as leadership. There is a passage that says we should not deal with proud or arrogant people because they are vexations to the spirit. If you are working with them by chance, simply don’t deal with them and go on with the right way of life.  Or if you have no choice but to deal with them, let your encounters with such beings be brief. Avoid being contaminated. Rather, let the weak characters learn from the right way of life, by simply standing for whatever is right, and maintaining actual practice of righteousness.

Greater happiness and prosperity will be realized in the process of living a noble and consistent way of life, precisely because there will be but one good character instead of a good one and a bad one. The wise follow whatever leads to a more lasting joy. Those who maintain a contradictory (negative) character within find themselves creating their own problems one on top of the other, while their other character keeps trying to repair one damage after another. And those who follow them will eventually be confused, disorganized, and in disarray.

So do yourself a favor. Take a stand only for whatever is right and never for what will be wrong. Love yourself as well as others by looking at the long-term aside from short-term impact. Uphold wisdom at all times.
