How I feel about the world.
Of course to be able to finance something like taxes would skyrocket. But would they really have to? Canada offers free health care, their economy is fine. Germany has free college, they are fine. What makes America prone to suffering then? I believe it is the fact that we try to be the best. We want the best schools, the best jobs, the best houses, and the best country. The problem with that is we are the best. But we still try for more. We need to focus on what is important and forget how we are perceived to the world. Other countries think we are arrogant and stupid, and so far we have done nothing to quell that stereotype. We live in a society without God, and without care for one another. Other countries see this as weakness. To stop the others from thinking negatively about the United States first we must stop worrying about them. Fix our own problems, twelve percent of Americans are below poverty limit, yet we continue spending in other countries. What good will a sovereign Democracy in Iraq do if our own country is set ablaze by the very tyranny we are fighting, negligence from the government.
So, I propose this is where it stops. We need some serious changes in the world of today and unless someone get things in motion we really have not shot at success. Maybe the theorists are right, and this is the beginning of the end of the world in 2012. But I refuse to believe we are not in control of our own destiny. We will prevail regardless of our actions, but to what extent. How long can we continue on our path to destruction before we are rudely awakened by another 9-11. I will continue to believe what I have said in this paper and will stand behind it whenever I can. But I am only one person. Changes take much more to occur. Whatever the outcome of the upcoming election is irrelevant. It is up to us, the youth in America to change the world. Not the older generations, not the president or congress. We are the future and we hold the success of tomorrow in our hands, today.
