A flat tax isn’t a bad Idea but it would be inflexible and In this world that wouldn’t work very well. Here is a short list of things that can and do go wrong Earth Quakes; Tornado’s; hurricanes;And don’t forget our friends the terrorists both foreign and domestic these are variables that we have no control over and cost us lives and do damage to property. Every thing cost money to replace and some of it isn’t covered by home owners insurance so who will replace the highways damaged by a natural disaster or act of Terrorism? And who will feed and doctor them as they wait for there world to go back into normal mode? That’s why we need fema to keep people out of the cracks. And if a major distastes happened would the home owner insurance go bankrupt covering the damage caused by a hurricane like Katrina or worse;Or would they just say to home owners that your out of luck sorry. And there’s the unemployed that can’t afford food let alone insurance to cover them what will they do? Unless your out if touch with reality or have a Moses complex of some kind; In my 50 years I’ve never seen anyone part an ocean to calm a storm yet. But Mr Boner or Mr Cantor you are welcome to try that we’ll even get you the costume  to make you look like moses if that will help you. But until we have more control over the world we live in we need to be flexible and a flat tax doesn’t give us that flexibility and that won’t pay down the deficit we have either. It’s time to come back to planet Earth and deal with reality if you want to play Moses that’s fine but the deficit won’t go away until we get people back to work and earning a living again. and we need a Tax system that is more fair. unless you have a plan that could help the homeless and the poorest of Our nation get a job of some kind and live too but that would be a form of Socialism in it self wouldn’t it.

And the cost of living would have to go to come down to the point that they can afford to eat and have a place to live and either pay for health care or get the insurance to cover themselves but that mean the rich wouldn’t be getting as rich as there used to or as quickly either and that will never happen. It would be hard to fix that unless the whole world went with socialism the chances of that are slim and none and slim just walked out. But have fun parting the red sea or is it the atlanic ocean your going to part good luck with that.
