Writings of a fevered mind.
Will you look at that, I’ve written whatever that pops in to my mind without any plan or purpose but just simply to enjoy the feeling of writing. Maybe I’m seeking my own Zen enlightenment perhaps? Just like the samurai of old when they will practice day in and day out with their swords and techniques until when they come to the point that their “body remembers” until the wielding of the sword, the techniques that they are practicing and using it becomes a part of them and they would be able to face their enemies without hesitation. Sword and body are one; wielding it is like breathing or eating to them. They will use their swords and at the same time they are thinking of going to work the following day so is also the purpose of this free style writing exercise.
I didn’t realize that this is fun! Writing without considering grammar, spelling and who will be the readers. The exercise is exhilarating! It’s like being able to tap into a greater power I haven’t known before existed within me.
I hope that this will result into great things in the future like in polishing my writing technique. At this point I have already reached the 4 minute in my countdown clock. Like they said “practice makes perfect” and I believe that practicing this at least once a day will make me a better writer or be able to produce articles that people would love to read and leave comment to.
An idea pops into my mind just right now. I saw the deck of Tarot cards in my bookshelf and I was thinking of using the Tarot cards as my inspiration, my writing prompt. It has different pictures with different meanings. Using their meaning and interpreting their spread can actually produce quite a good story for me to tell or to show me something about life to reflect upon. What do you think? Did any one of you try the same? Stories or comments based on the Tarot Card. Now that’s what I call a writing prompt!
Doing this exercise in the computer is tiring to my fingers, but it’s worth it. No pain, no gain. Let the words flow, be one with the force I mean be one with the mind, the hands, the keyboard, and the screen.
