I watched the speech that was giving by Our President Obama. The speech “Yes We Can”. Obama used a lot of hand jesters and eye contact. He spoke into the microphone often when he was hitting major points. A lot of the time when he would say the words “we” or “our” he would speak into the microphone and with a loud, but not yelling tone.

I do believe that this particular speech of Obama’s could not be more persuasive just on paper. I think that by the way he delivered it and by it being in person is the only way that it could be a persuasive speech. I don’t think it would have the same impact as it did, just on paper.

I think that the only way, now sure their can be more, but in my opinion the only way for a writer to create a persuasive message without body language would be to use the best enticing words that you can put to paper. The words would have to grab you rather than the jesters.

Obama used a positive and informative tone in this speech. He made you, “you” being the one to watch the speech actually believe that you could be the one to help him in actually bringing change to America. I think that he used emotion and logic to persuade the audience. Example, the way that he spoke in to the microphone and how he pointed to the crowd, it was as if you and I both could be a part of the speech even.

Yes I indeed found this speech to be persuasive. I to be honest I did not vote for Obama and I am not truly one that actually cares for Obama. I will tell you this though, he is excellent with words and delivery. He is indeed very persuasive and very intelligent with words.
